​William W. Lander, MD Medical Student Scholarship

Montgomery County Medical Society (MCMS) will award two $2,500 scholarships to qualified medical students. The Foundation of the Pennsylvania Medical Society administers this scholarship for medical students who are residents of Montgomery County. This scholarship is made possible by contributions from Montgomery County Medical Society physicians. Read about this scholarship's eligibility requirements.

Pyfer Fund Scholarship

Thanks to the generosity of Howard F. Pyfer, M.D., the Montgomery County Medical Society offers reimbursement (a maximum of $500) for Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits for qualified members. Click the link below for more information and to apply.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation and gratitude for the William W. Lander, MD, Medical Student Scholarship I have been awarded. This award will help me to continue pursuing my medical education at The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. My current career goals include the practice of academic and clinical medicine in the fields of women’s health, pediatrics, and surgery. This scholarship has relieved some of my financial burden and will allow me to continue my aspirations of being a medical professional. I am thankful to the generous award from the Montgomery County Medical Society and Foundation of the Pennsylvania Medical Society that make such scholarships possible, as they play a crucial role in empowering students like me to reach their full potential. I am truly honored and ecstatic to be chosen as a recipient of the WIlliam W. Lander, MD, Medical Student Scholarship. Thank you so much to the Montgomery County Medical Society for this wonderful opportunity. Growing up in Abington Township, working as an EMT and emergency room technician in the area, and now starting medical school not far from home at Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, I am excited to continue my education with this support. Thus far, medical school has been a thrilling challenge. Not only am I learning the intricacies of the human body and discovering my interest in trauma surgery, but I am continually inspired by my opportunity to be a real compassionate comfort to patients. Patients are suffering and living with unimaginably difficult circumstances. I want to be a doctor prepared to provide excellent care, but more importantly prepared to support my fellow humans through these trying moments. I am looking forward to being in the trenches of patient care helping vulnerable people through
